" Peregriene Falcon rescued from illegal widlife trade"
On 7th August 2019 , Our legal team members Lalit Ghadi and Nikhil Mahajan visited the Aurangabad city for their personal work. While roaming the steerts of Paithan Gate area they came across a pet shop named 'Fins and Feathers ' which had one wild bird kept in cage.
They soon inquired about the bird and clicked a photo. The bird was identified as a Peregriene Falcon which is a Schedule 1 species under Widlife Protection Act 1972.
They got in touch with Aurangabad Forest Department and explained them the situation. They planned the operation with our inputs. Around at 7 pm mobile squad of Forest department reached the shop and seized the bird. Owner of the shop was also arrested.
Preliminary offence report was filed and today accused was produced in front of the court. The judge granted 1 day forest custody of the accused. Forest department is further investigating this matter.
